We still work closely with them, but Scott is prepared to Heifer Let Me Check My Giveashitometer Nope Nothing Shirt care to our animals when needed. Dont know crap about cows, but just curious, that was obviously done without anaesthetic no, I’m not some animal nut claiming animal cruelty, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but does it hurt them. She seemed very calm i know if I was cut with a box cutter, and then had two screwdrivers stuck in me, I wouldnt be calm like that do they just have tougher skinless sensitive , or is it because she was in distress and just didnt give a crap. Thank Of course it hurt we are sure, Justin. But she was in distress and would have died very quickly if the pressure hadn’t been released. Andy, for sure. This definately was a life or death situation so Scott used what he had. But, she’ll be watched carefully and given antibiotics to keep any infection from setting in. But honestly, infection was the least of her worries at the time. He used what he had to let the air out immediately from her rumen to help her breathe before she died; otherwise, in the heat she wouldn’t have lasted long. There is a tool, which Scott has in his other pickup, made to help alleviate the pressure of a bloated calf, but calling the vet out or waiting until that tool got there would have meant that the calf would have died in the process. It heals very easily, Daniel. We did give her antibiotics and close supervision, but no additional treatment to the wound required. Travis, the goal is to keep the animals alive. As indicated in our post, we recognize that this wasn’t the ideal way of addressing a life threatening bloat. We have the Heifer Let Me Check My Giveashitometer Nope Nothing Shirt tools, but didn’t have them on this day.
